I had a summer job interview Tuesday. I feel like it went really well. Hopefully something comes of it!
I'm in class, so therefore it makes sense that I should be writing a new blog. I don't really have a whole lot to say, but oh well. I'm going to College Station NEXT weekend!!! Yay! I haven't been since last July, and I'm excited to go back and see what else has popped up since I was last there. Everytime I go back I don't even recognize it. I wish all that cool stuff was there when I was. We're going to the Mizzou/A&M basketball game. I love the Tigers, but I'll always bleed Maroon...so, gig 'em!
I have a busy spring coming up. Lots of trips to make and things to get done. I'm looking forward to it all. It will make what could otherwise be a boring semester more fun. I really like some of my classes, and others I have a hard time paying attention. I really like Free Speech and Family Law, but I'm not a huge fan of Sales or Remedies. Nikki, numbers, and codebooks don't really get along. I'd far prefer to argue abstract principles. :)
Well, now I'm home watching American Idol from last night. Most of the people have sucked. Oh well. I can't stand when people boo Simon...I disagree with him sometimes, but most of the time I wonder if people are listening to the same thing I am.
This was quite possibly the most scatterbrained and random post ever. Oh well, that's what I do! Have a good Thursday!

The week of ME!
So, the week of me has come and gone, and it was awesome! I have some really great people in my life that made my birthday really great!
Let's see, I woke up Wednesday to what I thought was a rapist in my apartment, but no! It was Scott making me breakfast burritos! They were yummy. I definitely didn't make class a priority on my birthday. I went to one...I think. Then, we had lunch at Chipotle, so the day just got better! After that, I went back to my apartment after getting some flowers from someone special.
That same someone special also cooked me dinner! Steak and baked potatoes, yummmm. Then, I had a cake. Well, I didn't personally eat the whole cake. I'll rephrase. I received a cake. AND, it was a cookie cake with GREEN icing! The best!
Someone special also gives good gifts! The Tudors season 2, some really cool prints, hott shoes, I'm a new zoo parent, and I finally get to have my Shakespeare's London panoramic framed! Yay!
It was such an awesome birthday, much better than last year when I had the flu, had a memo due the next day, and other things.
The next day I got a nice card and Visa Gift Card from the rents! They're the best! Speaking of them, they are all moved to Albuquerque! My mom stayed back to finish up a few weeks at her job, but she leaves for good this Friday! No more Texas address for me :(
Friday, I met a group of people at the comedy club for more birthday fun! The comedian was the "jackrabbit" on Sex and the City, from the episode when Charlotte and Harry got married. He was less than funny as a standup comedian. Oh well, I still had a good time.
Saturday I watched Mizzou kill the corn lovers, and A&M lose. Grr. Dinner at Addison's, and dessert at Coldstone, yum. OH, and it was a disgusting free day! No talking about poop or farts allowed. It was a good day, haha.
Sunday I got a surprise trip to KC! We stayed at the carriage house of this bed and breakfast on the Plaza. At first, it reminded me of when Pam and Jim stayed on Dwight's farm. I wanted to ask for the irrigation room, haha. But, our suite was really nice. We had dinner at the Melting Pot (that is definitely not part of my diet haha). And, I got new earrings, and they're awesome :) I'm in good hands. As if I were with Allstate.
Let's see, that's about all the updating I have for now. Another week is upon us, and I am officially sick for the first time in '09! I would prefer the germs to exit my system. Bitte.
Have a good week everyone!

The Land of Concrete
Happy Sunday! I'm back for another enthralling edition of my blog.
Yesterday, a group of us went to the Mizzou basketball game at Iowa State. The drive wasn't that bad, only about 5 hours of actual driving time each way. (Not great, but not terrible). We stopped at Gates BBQ in Kansas City. Having never been there before, I was totally confused as to what was going on. We walked in and we were standing in line, just waiting, and they tried to take our order. We were yelling over people in front of us. I didn't know what was going on! Everyone around us knew exactly what to do, so of course I felt silly. Anyhoo, lunch was good, and we were on our way again!
We got into Ames about an hour before the game, and we drove around for a bit. I mean no offense to anyone who is a die hard Iowa State fan, but I could NOT go there. Every building was gray concrete, which made for a gloomy mix with the dirty snow that had piled up over what I'm guessing has been a few weeks. Then, when we were walking into the stadium, we noticed that the parking lot was a bit...off. The spots were diagonal but it seems in Iowa people just park their cars wherever they want. Cars were in walkways, in the middle of aisles, and criss-crossing the parking spot lines. I guess that's how things go there? Who knows.
The game was fun! Mizzou won, yay! Afterwards, we went around to take some pictures on campus. We went through an open gate at the stadium, which we were pretty sure was still trespassing, and got some pictures with the field...that we were practically standing on. Then we took some pictures at other places on campus. We saw sooo many raccoons just walking around. Anyone from Frisco would be excited, like I was, to see Frisky just hanging out! We left shortly after taking pics because it was cold, and there was nothing to do. Jill, the GPS, decided to take us back a different way than we came. I'd like to call it the "where the hell are we?" way. We ended up in the industrial ghetto of Des Moines, driving down a road that smelled like fried chicken, which I'm pretty sure was actually toxic chemicals. When we finally got on a highway, it was a two lane curvy road in the middle of nowhere. After driving by around 4-5 "Casey's General Stores" (they advertised selling pizza and donuts; I think that sounds legit), we finally stopped at a Subway somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Apparently we were in Albia, IA. Look it up, I didn't know what it was or where it was. The entire time we were in the restaurant, I had zero cell phone service. At the risk of sounding like a snob, how can you live somewhere without cell phone service? As if! Haha, wow.
I think we all breathed a collective sigh of relief when we crossed the Missouri state line. It was marked unceremoniously on the tiny ass road by a small green sign. We finally got home around 2AM, and I was asleep pretty quickly. If Mizzou had lost, that trip would have SUCKED. But, as it was, it was a good time.
Today, I was absolutely unproductive. Aside from going to workout, I got nothing done. I ran errands, but that was about it. I have a LOT to do tomorrow, and the big Mizzou/ku basketball game is tomorrow night. Go Tigers! I'm off for now; I hope y'all had a good weekend!

Super Bowl Sunday
It's the big game! I'd be much happier if the Giants were playing again this year, but alas, they let themselves get owned by Philly. I'll be watching it anyway and eating all the best unhealthy foods. Yum. Go Steelers! (I don't really care who wins, but I have a lot of friends who are Steelers fans, so why not).
I had a good weekend. Friday, I got my Missouri driver's license. I have to for residency, but I was sad to see my Texas one go. I cried briefly in the parking lot. Haha, I know, I'm a dork. Friday night I went to a concert in Columbia. We saw this 70s-80s cover band. They were really good. The lead singer was fun to watch. He was wearing a white Elvis-like costume, silver loafers, and he had the most flowing blonde curly hair I've ever seen on a grown man. I want his secret. Saturday was a good sports day. The Aggies won, the longhorns lost, and Mizzou won! Good day. And that brings me to today. I worked out already, just to put all those calories back on with the yummy Superbowl food.
Short entry, I know, but I'm off to cook! Have a good Sunday everyone!
