That's a song, right?
It's been forever since I've updated. My apologies to my loyal fan(s). All 1.5-2 of you. Since I last updated, I've finished the spring the semester, seen one of my best friends get married, started my job, found a new house, planned a trip to see my parents in Albuquerque (finally!), and now I'm about a week and a half away from finishing my internship! Crazy.
I haven't seen my parents since January and I have yet to go to New Mexico. I have to drive out there though, ugh. Since my car is in my Dad's name I'll have to get NM license plates, and NM requires a personal VIN inspection, which means I have to take my car to NM. At least they don't have yearly state-required inspections. That would suck. I'm really looking forward to seeing them; I miss them tons!
I have really loved my job this summer. It sounds cliche, but I feel like the work I'm doing is (hopefully) making a small difference, in terms of keeping convicted felons in jail, where, for the most part, they belong. It has really made me very interested in pursuing criminal prosecution as a career. I do like appellate work, but I feel like my calling is more in the original trial work. Reading through the case files about all the ins and outs of the trials whose appeals I'm working on is my favorite part of my job. Hopefully my experience this summer will help me get a job I love!
Let's see, it's hot as crap outside. For as cooold as it gets here in the winter, it is equally hot in the summer. And humid. (Or, yoomid as one of my professors at A&M used to say). My sunglasses fog up everytime I walk outside. Yuck.
Hopefully I'll get to take another float trip before summer is up. I went on one a few weekends ago and it was a lot of fun! It wasn't quite as hot then, which made for pleasant camping, although the water was a bit chilly. I also didn't injure myself this year! Victory.
Alright, I'm off for the evening! Have a good Friday everyone!
